All stringing is provided by Unites States Racquet Stringing Association (U.S.R.S.A.) Master Racquet Stringer Scott Hurtubise.
Did you know at the very minimum we should be re-stringing our racquets once a year? Even better is stringing your racquet twice a year; at the start of the outdoor and indoor season. Some players use the guideline to restring as many times a year as they play a week. And some players string when control is an issue because the strings have lost their responsiveness, or when they finally break a string. Regardless the case, if you are looking for guidance, here is what we have to offer:
Synthetic Gut
Great value for the money, syn gut provides solid all-round play. Wilson Syn Gut 16 has excellent playability with durability and power. Available in white.
Co-Polyester
Also known as co-poly, this strings is known for spin durability, and control. Comfort and tension loss can be drawbacks.
-Wilson Revolve 16 is known for its ability to provide good control and spin, especially for players with long, fast strokes. Available in black.
-Luxilon Eco Spin 17 has a pentagon shape that offers great spin potential and control. This sustainable choice, is made of 100% recycled materials and is also biodegradable. Available in black.
*We recommend stringing co-polys 10% lower than your normal tension.
*The Lexilon factory in Belgium runs on 100% solar polar.
Multifilaments
Multi’s offer power, comfort and feel at a reasonable price. Superior play over synthetic gut.and great for use in hybrids. Wilson Sensation Plus 16 is wrapped with metallic ribbons for even more comfort. Available in black.
Hybrids
Combining two types of string, co-poly in the mains and multifilament in the crosses, to maximize durability and playability. Wilson Duo II combines Luxilon Adrenaline 16 and Wilson NXT 16 for a blend of crisp responsiveness and arm-friendly comfort.
If you have your own string, labour is $20.
When choosing a string, 15 gauge is thickest, then 16 guage, then 17 guage, and finally 18 guage. The thicker string offers more durability and the thinner string offers more playability (spin & control).
Also, when deciding on tension: low tensions = more power, less control & high tension = less power, more control.
